Removing wisdom teeth

Wisdom teeth often come through at an angle or only partly, which can cause pain, swelling and decay in the tooth next to them. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out.

We take an OPG X-ray, and a 3D scan if needed, to see where the roots sit before we recommend anything.

Meet the team

Our dentists and oral health therapists care for patients six days a week. Between them they cover everything from routine check-ups and children's care through to implants, aligners and cosmetic work.

We publish our fees, offer payment plans, and do not charge for consults on implants, aligners or cosmetic work.

We explain your options plainly and give you the cost in writing before any treatment starts.

Free consults for bigger treatment

Consults for implants, aligners and cosmetic work are free. They include X-rays, a 3D scan, photos and a written plan.

Fees on the website

New patient exam, clean and X-rays $149. Current fees for every treatment are on our pricing page, and payment plans are available.

Same-day appointments

We keep emergency times free each day. Implant patients can usually have a temporary tooth fitted on the day.

Monday to Wednesday 9am to 6pm, Thursday 9am to 9pm, Friday 9am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday by appointment. Located at Melrose Central with free undercover parking, close to bus routes and major roads.

What removal involves

Simple removals take a short visit under local anaesthetic. Impacted teeth need a small surgical procedure. IV sedation is available if you would rather not be aware of it.

What to expect

  • An assessment with X-rays first.
  • Written aftercare and a follow-up call.
  • Most people rest for a few days afterwards.

Common questions

Do all wisdom teeth need removing?

No. We only suggest removal when they are causing problems or are likely to.

How long is recovery?

Most people are back to normal in three to five days.

Can I be sedated?

Yes. IV sedation is available.
