IV sedation (intravenous sedation) involves administering a sedative medication directly into a vein, inducing a deeply relaxed, sleep-like state. Unlike general anaesthesia, you remain able to respond to verbal prompts, but most patients have little to no memory of the procedure afterwards.
At Lumi Dental, IV sedation is administered by a qualified IV sedationist in compliance with ANZCA PG09(G) guidelines. Our sedation suite includes full monitoring equipment including pulse oximetry, capnography, blood pressure and ECG. You are in safe, supervised hands throughout.

Yes. You must have a responsible adult drive you to the appointment, be onsite during the appointment and take you home. You also need someone to stay with you for a few hours afterwards. You cannot drive or operate machinery that day.
