What the fee covers

Your first visit covers a full exam of your teeth and gums, a scale and clean, digital X-rays where they are due and a written treatment plan to take home. Your visit is with one of our dentists or oral health therapists.

Returning adult check-ups with a scale and clean are $249. With most health funds there is no gap, and nib members pay nothing for check-ups, cleans and recalls. If you need more than a clean, we give you a written quote first.

Why we opened Lumi

We wanted a practice where people feel comfortable walking in. You shouldn't feel rushed in the chair, and you shouldn't have to guess what something will cost.

Lumi is independently owned, and every dentist and oral health therapist here is AHPRA registered. If it has been years since your last check-up, that's fine. We'll have a look, tell you what we see and give you a written quote before anything is done.

Your clinician may be a dentist or an oral health therapist (OHT). Our OHTs are university-trained and AHPRA registered, and look after check-ups, X-rays, cleans, gum care and children's teeth. They work alongside our dentists from the same plan, and if you need a filling, crown or other treatment, we book you in with a dentist.

nib First Choice provider

nib members pay no gap on check-ups and cleans. Periodontal cleans are not included.

Common questions

Is there a gap with my health fund?

With most health funds there is no gap for a check-up and clean. We claim on the spot through HICAPS, so you know before you pay.

How long does the first visit take?

About 45 minutes. That leaves time for X-rays, the clean and your questions.

Do you see children?

Yes. Children aged 2 to 9 are $99 for a first check-up, or no gap with most health funds, and under 2s are seen free.

Is this the final price?

It is a guide. We check your teeth first and give you a written quote before any treatment starts, so you know what you will pay.

When are you open?

Monday to Wednesday 9am to 6pm, Thursday 9am to 9pm, Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm. Sundays are by appointment.
