Hybrid Orthodontics

The best of clear aligners and fixed braces, combined. Hybrid treatment uses each system where it performs best, giving you a more precise result than either alone. Ideal for cases that are too complex for aligners but don't need full-time braces throughout.

Who it suits

Is hybrid orthodontics right for you?

Hybrid treatment is recommended for patients with moderate to complex crowding, bite corrections, or significant rotations. Cases where aligners alone may not achieve a reliable result but full fixed braces for the entire treatment feels excessive.

Complex crowding

Significant rotations or overlaps that aligners struggle to reliably correct, handled efficiently by Damon braces in the first phase.

Bite corrections

Class I, II or III bite discrepancies requiring precise torque control, best addressed with fixed mechanics, then finished discreetly with aligners.

Want a discreet finish

You don't want to wear braces for your entire treatment. Hybrid lets you finish the final detailing phase in clear aligners. Nobody needs to know.

Is hybrid treatment right for your case?

We'll recommend the best approach (aligners, braces, or hybrid) based on your specific case.

Hybrid orthodontics FAQs

What exactly is hybrid orthodontics?

A staged approach combining the strengths of both systems. Damon braces handle the complex first phase, then clear aligners finish the case discreetly.

Who is hybrid treatment best suited for?

Moderate to complex crowding, bite corrections, and significant rotations where aligners alone may not reliably achieve the result.

How much does hybrid treatment cost?

Quoted at consultation based on case complexity. We provide a full written quote before you commit to anything.

How long does hybrid treatment take?

Typically 18-30 months across both phases combined, depending on the complexity of your case.

Do I wear braces the whole time?

No. The braces phase typically lasts 12-18 months, followed by a shorter clear aligner finishing phase.
