IMPLANTS · STEP 2 OF 4

Implant treatment

step by step.

Most single implants take three to six months from placement to the final crown. Here is what happens at each stage.

months, usually

The stages

Not everyone needs every stage. Your written plan shows which ones apply to you.

Plan

We plan the implant on your 3D scan and make a printed guide from that plan.

Place icon: an implant going into the jawOn the day

Place

The area is numbed, so you usually feel pressure rather than pain. IV sedation is available.

Heal icon: a leaf3 to 4 months

Heal

The bone grows around the implant. For a front tooth we plan a temporary so you are not left with a gap.

Crown

We scan the implant and fit a crown matched to the teeth beside it, then check your bite.

Tooth removal, only if neededBone graft, only if needed

Most single implants take 3 to 6 months from placement to crown. After that, we check the implant at your regular check-ups.

Many people go back to work the next day

If you have sedation, rest for the rest of that day and have someone take you home. We give you written aftercare to follow.

Replacing a whole arch?

Full-arch treatment follows a different timeline. Many patients receive fixed temporary teeth on the day of surgery, with the final bridge fitted after healing.
