What to expect with edge bonding

We begin with a quick consult to look at the edges you would like to refine and to check your teeth are healthy. Edge bonding is ideal for small chips and uneven edges.

In most cases it is done in a single visit with little or no drilling. We add tooth coloured material to the edges and shape it to look natural.

We polish everything to a smooth finish and check your bite before you leave.

Edge bonding FAQs

How much does edge bonding cost?

$2,400 for 4 teeth, $3,000 for 6 teeth. Free cosmetic consultation included. Exact fee confirmed at your appointment.

Does it hurt?

No. No drilling, no anaesthetic required in most cases. It's one of the most comfortable cosmetic treatments available.

How long does it last?

5-8 years before a touch-up is typically needed. Avoid biting nails,  using teeth as tools and avoiding poor oral habits to extend the lifespan.

Is it reversible?

Yes. No tooth structure is removed in most cases. Edge bonding is one of the most reversible cosmetic treatments available.

Typically 1-2 hours for a full set. Mostly completed in a single visit with a review appointment. If more teeth are required, more appointments will be needed.

How long is the appointment?

Who is a good candidate?

Patients with straight or recently straightened teeth who want to fix worn, chipped or uneven incisal edges. Often done as a final finishing step after aligner treatment.
